Age Group Nationals - Day 1:

Day 1 Finals
2 great swims tonight in the finals came from 15 yr old Travis Kam and 14 yr old Colton Kasteel. Kam swam very strong 1st and last 50's to claim BRONZE in the 200 Backstroke with a best time of 2:11.17. A few minutes later Kasteel, competing in his 1st ever National meet, swam a best time of 0:32.80 to finish 6th in the 50 Breaststroke. That time is unofficially a CDSC club record for 13-14 yr old Boys. A great night for these 2 boys...!
Day 1 Prelims
It was a good 1st morning at the Canadian Age Group Champs in Winnipeg. All CDSC swimmers had best times except Travis Kam, but he is going in 3rd tonight in one of his top events (200 Back).
13 yr old Vivian Wu had two best times and raced well going 1:14.57 in the 100 Butterfly and 38.31 in the 50 Breaststroke. This is her 1st time competing at a National Championship.
15 yr old Jaclyn Mansfield also swam to a best time in her 50 Breaststroke, 36.58.
14 yr old Colton Kasteel won his heat in the 50 Breaststroke and had best time of 33.44 to finish 6th and make Finals.
